Is it a good purchase for $3000? Do they need a lot of repairs? How reliable are they?

my dad just bought a suburban with some stimpy OE rims. can anyone tell me a good wheel and tire place that sells 20's or 22's that have been mounted and balanced at a reasonable price? the only places that i could come up with is wheelguyz.com and ebay.

Do you think they're not as good as dealerships that do, or do you think it doesn't really matter?

How can I ensure that if they pay by check it is good? Or how can I protect myself from a fraud transaction? Should I not hand over title to car until check clears?

sure, I got a shedload of scammers' emails or others kept calling 2 lure me 2 pay them instead to advertise my car (ie snatch business from autotrader.co.uk who I'd paid good £cash for ad).
But frustratingly no serious response for 2 mths. My ad showed all major details: FSH, MOT'd, VW & Audi parts, immobiliser, auto front windows, diesel fuelled, clean, VGC etc etc. And I placed ads in the car windows too. But it's bn sooo QUIET.

Aargh, pls help...what am I not doing that I should?

I'm finally accepting I will need a new car w/in the next 6 months or so. My current car is a '97 Dodge Stratus and I have been happy with it. However, I do not want to buy another one. I'm trying to figure out what car would be a good next purchase. I am wanting a sedan, not a hatchback, that gets decent gas milege (more than 30mpg on highway). Because I'm used to the size of a Stratus I would like a car to be roomy on the inside. I've been looking at just about everything trying to get a feel for various cars. Ideally I'd love to get a Toyota but my price range is between 10-12thousand. Any help would be great. Thanks.

If you had the budget.. I know that one is a mid-size, and the other is a compact, and I've test-driven both, but want to hear advice based on experience with the two cars. Thanks,

ok, i have bad credit, a repo thats 2 years old, and starting a new good paying job soon. I know i'll probably have to have at least 3g's for down pymt and interest rate may be about 21%, which is very high(but it's the price u pay for having bad credit, i guess). However, my question is, generally speaking, whats the basic criteria that banks/finance company require? specifically, how long do i have to be on my job...is it 3 months or 6 months? the vehicle i want averages 26g's(thousand dollars)used.

Ok so A freind of mine is trying to sell her car. I am in desperate need of somthing functional that will last. She has a 1995 Lexus LH400. It has 160,00 miles, leather, moonroof, heated seats, automatic start, 5 disc cd player, tv in the passesnger side visor, new tires, a new fuel pump, it has been taken for oil changes every 3,000 miles. she bought it when it had 90,000 miles rfom original owner. It has a small rust spot on drivers side door, and a very small dent in bumper. It needs new brakes, a muffler and a tune up in the next six months. Overall it is in fair/good condition. She is willing to let me have it for 2 grand. Should i take this deal. Will this car last, and is it worth it?

I purchased a car thursday and found out friday that the car was for sale 100% cheaper than what I paid. Is there a law in illinois that says u can return a vehicle w/in a certain amount of days? If so how long? What should I do about being ripped off? I haven't paid the full balance of the vehicle yet.
