In the states the Chevy Cobalt is nice for the money. A Saturn Aura or Opel Astra is a good midsize car. in Europe a Peugeot 206 or Opel GTC is a good value. DONT buy a hybrid because they will need a 10000+ dollar replacement part not covered by the warranty.

Will you actually have to buy a car or will you just pay for the fuel?

Consider this because the mondeo might seem cheap to run on economy figures but will take a beating on depreciation, costing you more in the long run.

I run a brokerage supplying new cars and we have been selling a lot of Honda Civic 2.2 Diesel lately. They are cheap to run very reliable and they are great to drive. Another car to consider is the Golf yes, but it is very boring and unreliable. We sell a lot of Golf and they are a bit mundane.

If you want any other ideas give us a call IntroCars.co.uk 01376 514415. We can quote on any make or model and you will deal with the dealer direct. We just get the discount for you.

Get the TDI!!! Fuel in general is slowly coming down in price due to the massive reserve that had been built up... that doesn't mean you should go out and get something that is going to cut into your profit margin from your sales work, Diesel is the way to go, and VW Golf is the way to get there!!

with diesels, for you to see a return, you would have to do a distance equivalent to the moon to see the sugnificance of the inflated value to a petrol version.

best get a hybrid car- 2 engines; petrol and electric. lexus have developed hybrid cars that help save you money on petrol and thus better for the environment, all without compromise of any normal car. = no need to charge elctric motor as the energy of the petrol motor drives it. the car alternates between the two motros depending on how much power/ speed is needed.

they are fantastic cars- will save you money, no compromise on performance, and very good brand.

lexus gs 450h(large saloon), rx 400h (4x4) are available now

My husband drives 65 miles one way and has a 97Honda Civic. It has gotten at times 34-36 mpg and he isn't usually very nice to it. He got over 250K miles on the engine and still getting that good of mileage.
