Buying & Selling - September 2006

I purchased this used car for 4000 bucks and I still owe 3000 on it, except yesterday out of nowhere the engine just basically seized up on me. I called the dealership and told them that my car was screwed up. They said that if I give them another $800 down for another down payment on a different car that they would help me out. I don't feel as if I should give them any more money. By some sort of lemon law aren't they obligated to put me in a vehicle that works. Atleast put me in a car of equal value and just keep my payments the same or atleast a somewhat similar. I don't feel it is fair to have to pay for a car that doesn't run expetionally the fact that I have only had the car for about 59 days. I hope someone can help me with an answer. No they never gave me any extended warranty, But there has got to be some law that protects me from this. Please Help..

I'm looking for a 1964-1966 Chevy El Camino. My beautiful 1964 was totaled a few weeks ago. And I am now in the market for another one. I would prefer not to have a project car, but rather one that is ready to drive. It does not have to be in showroom condition, but at least easy on the eyes with lots of curb appeal. Somewhere in the neighborhood of $9000 of less. And in the northwest region of Oregon and southwest region of Washington. Thanks for any info.

Okay well I'm 16, and yeah I got my car and everything but my cousin ran it to the ground and it's not running well. My parents said that if I pay for a new car they will be the title holders until I'm 18. Okay now I want a nice car, but not a brand new one. I think a used one would be better because as we all know that a car is the worst investment you can make because the value goes down the second you drive it off the lot. With that said, you're making payments on it and putting gas in it for 5 years and by the time you're done paying for it you want a different car and it's only worth a couple thousand. Would it just be better for me to get a used car and let other people pay for the depreciation value, or should I just get a brand-new car to make sure I'm safe and everything is good order. Or should I get a used car and just pay for the difference in getting it checked and what not... help me!

I'm looking into buying a Pontiac G5. I noticed it doesn't have cruise control as a standard feature.Spending almost 1200 dollars more you can get cruise control as well as anti-lock brakes, a cargo net, and some nicer wheels. I don't really NEED all that stuff except for the cruise control, (i'm trying to keep the cost down) but would be be worth it just to get the package? How much would cruise control be installed without all that other stuff?

I'm turning 18 on October 10th. And I want to finance a car instead of saving up for a used ragedy car like my peers.

So I talked to my finance teacher and asked how much interest they would give me since I just turned 18 and have no credit. He said when he was 21 they gave him 22% interest, so what he did was got out a loan from his credit union for 7% to pay off the car loan and then just paid monthly for the credit union loan since it was cheaper.

Should I do this?? Finance a car then take out another loan with less interest to pay off that loan? Or what would you suggest? What did you do when you financed your first car?

By the way, I have two jobs. And plan on using the second job to strictly pay off my car note, so how I will pay really isnt the issue, its how can i pay the least.
