I have a boat and a camper and often use it to haul things for other people and I just like driving a pick-up. Oh and it is a small pick-up and gets over 30 MPG and the insurance is very reasonable.

To be quite honest, I drive a pickup because I am a utility type of person, a lot of what I do requires tools, gadgets, etc.. having a pickup fits into that category for me. Unfortunately, owning a truck means that all your friends own a piece of it too because they'll always be asking to borrow it.
Also, it helps when you're going down the road and find something of interest that fell off of another car, like a step ladder, or a nice rim.
And lastly, truck are built stronger and tougher than cars, I feel safer bouncing around with a strong frame vs. a passenger car.

Cause I'm a Pickup Man. You can set my truck a fire, and roll it down a hill, but I still wouldn't trade it for a Coupe Deville.
I met all my wives in traffic jams. A bucket o' rust or a brand new machine, once around the block and you'll know what I mean...

Deffinitly for the gas miliage lol. But for the flexibility of being able to help someone move or tow a u-haul or a boat. Feeling like your untouchable because your so high above everyone else. And knowing that the truck help build America

I bought one when I was installing stone counters. I'm no longer installing stone counters, but I owe $16k on a truck that is worth $9k on a good day. I can't trade it to get something with better milage and that suits me now.
Ford Tough! whoo hoo!

It's fun, you don't really have a blind spot, you can put stuff in the back, you get to sit up straight and see over little cars. It has a bumpier feel which is really fun on gravel roads and pot holes. Higher clearance!
