I'm thinking of buying a $850 moped (all accessories included) for the summer time to cut down on gas. Should I or should I just save up for a motorcycle?

I had a moped looooonng ago, I loved it. I've also owned motorcycles, also a lot of fun. The one you get should depend on what your going to use it for.

Are you looking for go over 5-6 miles at a time? If no, a moped might suit you fine. If yes, a motorcycle would be much faster and more comfortable.

Will you have a passenger? Moped, it won't work. Motorcycle definitely. Just realize that a passenger on a motorcycle makes driving a bit difficult and dangerous if the passenger doesn't move with you during turns.

If your looking to save money, I don't believe a moped needs insurance. Motorcycles do, and most states have you go through a motorcycle safety course.

Accidents on a moped aren't nearly as bad as on a motorcycle. Nobody plans to get into an accident, but then again, that's why their called accidents :-).

You'll have fun on either on I'm sure.

First off a moped is not a toy, before even thinking about buying a moped get the regulation on the operation of this vehicle from your local authorites. If you do decide to buy this and it is a good idea, get safetly equipment along with these other items you are planning to get.
