I did a layaway plan with the dealer, one month later, i came up with all the money, 10G, I took the car and signed the contract, the car dealer told me that once the car leaves the auto shop, they are not responsible for anything, and after two weeks, the transmission is totally broken, I don't have any warranty on it, but that car is a honda accord 2002 and has a low millage, it's gonna cost me another 1600 dollars to fix the transmission, is there any way I can get my money back? Don't tell me to contact my dealer, they had me since i made a layaway plan, they over charged me 6% for every single payment, because i used debit card to pay, the bank did the charge, bullshit! He was trying to blame me for everything and talking me down, I really don't want to talk to him anymore, I just want my money back.

I don't want to get ripped off or buy a lemon, so I might be working on buying a car for months.

Here are my preferences:
1. A stick shift vehicle (because for example it might have an extra gear at a lower cost).
2. Roll down windows (because they tend to work well for a long time and are less expensive to repair).
3. A car high in the air (because it would have an easier time getting through snow and would be better preserved underneath when less water splashes on it).
4. A car that costs less than about $20,000 (because I think that that is enough to pay to get a good car and I am not looking for luxury).
5. A car that is inexpensive to maintain (because I don't want huge repair bills after spending so much for a car).
6. A car that gives pretty good gasoline mileage (must be either a four cylinder or a six cylinder).
7. A four door car (because they cost about the same and strike me as much more pleasant).
8. An option of four wheel drive (to combine with being a little elevated to get through snow.

I don't intend ever to sell this car.

Please help and let me know if I have given too much or too little info!

They gave me two options. Either I wait and be billed by the state or have my monthly payment increased and they will include it. What is my best option?

I found a car that I am very interested in buying, but it has about 3k to go until it's paid off. How would this "taking over payments" work exactly?

Hello,

I will be 16.5 when I get my license in early december.

Let's start off with monetary details:
- I am paying in FULL for the the vehicle/taxes/registration
- I am paying for insurance
- I am paying for gas
- I paid for driving school

I am not complaining about having the responsibility to pay for such things, so please don't discuss those issues. I have a high-paying job, so I don't worry about the money.

I want to buy a Mustang (2001-2004) for my first vehicle, and I would like ideas on how I can give my dad a MATURE debate as to why I should be allowed to purchase one.

He does not want me to get one because he had a mustang for his first car in the 80's (wrecked it), and also recked another sports vehicle soon after, so he is afraid I will do the same.

Please let me know what you think I should do to prove to my father that a Mustang is OK for me, and that I am responsible enough to own one... especially since I am paying for everything.

Thanks!

My car is still in good shape, low miles (30 k), no mechanical issues, no payment. I am thinking about trading it in for a new Focus because I can still get good trade in value, and before any problems have time to develop in old car. Should I buy one, or maintain the old one?

I am selling my car and on the title i accidently signed my name in the Dealer/Wholesaler/Auction section. I scratched that out and then signed my name in the correct section. Will the DMV take the title like that or do i have to go get a correction form?

My wife and I have looked at various SUVs as the next family vehicle. The top two that have our attention are: 1. Chevy Equinox AWD and 2. HUMMER H3. I personally don't really like the H3, but the Equinox isn't bad. I however, had my eye on a Hyundai Santa Fe or Ford Edge. I think I may have been overridden on those. Need some advice on which are more reliable, etc., etc. Thanks.

If Buyer purchases a car from a dealership with financing, whoever provides the financing will have a lien on the title. However, what physically happens to the title? Does the dealer transfer the title to the Buyer on the day of the initial sale and then file a UCC financing statement to record their interest? Or does the dealer hold onto the title until full payment is made (or perhaps transfer the title to the Bank or other institution that provides the financing)?

I'm looking at buying the new G6 GXP Sedan. MSRP of a little over $27,000.00. 3 year lease, $367.00 a month!!

I live in Michigan, and around the metro detroit area, only 1 dealership has these new cars. I know that I can afford that price right now. But do I really want to afford it? Where will I be in a year? 6 months? Who knows?? Is that price for that car really worth it?

I go to school about 45 miles away from home and only commute there once a month. I also only work about 3 miles from where I live and can walk to do all of my shopping. Any help?
