I am selling my car and on the title i accidently signed my name in the Dealer/Wholesaler/Auction section. I scratched that out and then signed my name in the correct section. Will the DMV take the title like that or do i have to go get a correction form?

I dont know were you are located but i can tell you that NC would not accept it..You will need to go to DMV to get the correct forms to sign it over.

Most states will require you to get a new title if something like this happens. Since you are selling it anyway, take your paperwork and go with the buyer to the DMV and see if they could simply have you sign a release of interest/ lost title affadavit to complete the sale. It should not be a problem.

they wont accept it ,when you scratched it out that messed it up,you need to apply for a quick title on the car, usually they will not accept any title that has been erased on,,it plainly tells on most titles not to do this, you can try selling it like this, but you ,may have to get a replacement for it,if the people who buy it cant register it,good luck with it. PS if you go with them o write out a note saying you did this ,they might accept it,but usually they wont, you can try it though.
