Should I buy a new Ford Focus or keep my 2002?

Question

My car is still in good shape, low miles (30 k), no mechanical issues, no payment. I am thinking about trading it in for a new Focus because I can still get good trade in value, and before any problems have time to develop in old car. Should I buy one, or maintain the old one?

I have no complaints about my current Focus and will only trade it for a new Focus.

Keep your 2002 as long as you can. All cars eventually have maintenance issues. If you can save the money you would spend on a car payment, you are better off.

It'll be a while before that car starts to develop the problems, keep it (and the cost to fix the problems will be a lot less then the difference between your trade in and the cost of a new car).

there is an all new focus coming for north america soon check fords web site for details, the current one is very much the same as the one you have now....not that much difference on trading a 5 verses 6 year old focus is there

I would buy the new one becuase it is totally redesigned with a sportier look inside and out, better gas mileage, and has an all new voice activated system new to all Ford's 2008 models. My vote is to keep the old one. You will lose ten to fifteen percent of the value the minute you drive off the lot. That is a lot of car reprairs.
