I have had good experiences and one really bad. Just make sure if you do it that you pay your deposit with paypal so you can get it back. And don't pay anymore than your deposit until you see and drive the car. I bought a beautiful Blazer off ebay, made the deposit and went 5 hours away to get it and the owner decided to take it 4-wheelin the night before I got there. Yeah it wasn't a pretty sight, mud everywhere and front-end damage. So just make sure you trust the person and don't give all the money until you see the car.

Well, it not actually buying off of ebay that is a problem because ebay just list for dealers or private sellers.. I have purchased off of ebay before..The vehicle was not acurately described but i decided that i could tolerate the problems that the vehicle had because i was buying it cheap enough to fix and I would still be ok..
I would not pay anything but the deposit with paypal..You can take a certified check for the remainder and that way,if the vehicle is not what you expected, you do not have to pay..Then you get the deposit back from paypal..
From my experiences it is really not worth all of the trouble unless it is a vehicle that you cannot find locally..
Good Luck!

I honestly have offered 2 vehicles on eBay. First replace right into a 'sixty six Mustang. the owner advised me there replace into basically elegance rust on the vehicle, I later found out that the physique replace into thoroughly rotted by using and alter into unrepairable.... the 2nd replace right into a 1992 circumvent Ram Diesel pickup. I enjoyed that truck to loss of existence even even though it had a bad oil leak the broker did no longer tell me approximately. had to sell it. do no longer purchase a vehicle on eBay until you may seem at it in the previous bidding. You on no account comprehend what could desire to be incorrect with the vehicle, because of the fact which you haven't any longer seen it in individual. as quickly as you win the universal public sale, the vehicle is yours.

The number one requirement if you are considering purchasing ANY used car, is to run a Carfax report on it first. You can buy a single report or unlimited access for a month. I suggest the month of reports-- that ensures you don't feel like you still have to buy a car that failed the report because you've already spent the money for the report.
It's not foolproof, but Carfax can catch alot of Katrina cars, rebuilt/salvage titles, cars that have been in bad accidents, etc.
I've searched and bought my last two vehicles on Craigslist and I can tell you, because of Carfax, most of the people on there are trying to defraud you so protect yourself!

Ebay is a very hard place to buy a car. I would never buy a vehicle unless I could actually see it and drive it first. Do you plan on going to pick it up or have it delivered? If you go to pick it up and it wasnt as described in the auction, then you are not bound to it. DO NOT send a cashiers check if you are having the car delivered.

Buying cars on ebay can be very easy. I would recommend driving it first, if possible. Most dealerships will describe everything wrong with the car, so your not let down when you get there. Make sure feedback is about 100% and never send cash. For the dealership I work for we will refund your deposit if the car is not how we described it.
