My uncle has had an old vespa thats somewhere between 1960-75 in his barn (it's really a garage, he restores old cars) and he said that I can have it when I'm a little older, but this was about three years ago. He's probably gonna let me have it, but the problem lies in my parents. They don't trust anything with an engine, and gave my brother the hardest time just about a little electric scooter. Any way I can convince them that it's safe and that I won't break anything?

And another question, if I do get the vespa, any tips/tricks/cool things to do with it? I'll probably just use it around town, but it'd still be cool to know what a scooter's really capable of.

I bought a Corvette this summer that I plan to store for the winter months. Is it advisable to do the oil change before storing it or before using it in spring?

I build points and test the signalling equipment here in the uk and would like to spend some time and maybe even emigrate to the states in the future so would like to know. In fact any railway job over there would happily suit me.

Anyone know?

I was recently involved in an auto accident in which my vehicle was hit in the rear by the front of another vehicle causing damage so severe that to repair it would cost more than the blue book value of the car. Now,my car is totaled, and the other driver's insurance is only accepting 50% of the liability when clearly they are responsible for the whole 100%,and I don't understand why.

Using my heater when it is not rainy does not cause the windows to fog. My trunk starts to smell musty or moldy during the rainy northwest winter, and the rear window can be foggy in the morning before I start the car, but I cannot find wet places in the trunk. I'm wondering if moisture is getting in around my tail lights, but I don't know where it would collect. The surface underneath the trunk floor and where the spare tire is tends to be dry.

I get so worried when I hear that he's going to be riding one, I wasn't at first but then my dad (who used to ride one) told me about the dangers, now he's gone to NC for a week and I'm really worried, I know he'll be riding motor cycles and he JUST got his motorcycle licence, what if something happens to him? I become an absolute wreck whenever I think about it?

Should I ask him to stop riding his motorcycle?

I'm replacing the stock manifolds on my car 3.5l and need to relocate the catalytic converter. I cannot fit two, stock setup, in the down pipes with the new manifolds so I'd rather use a single larger converter underneath and am converting the exhaust to a dual setup. In order to do so I'd like to use a converter with dual outputs. Otherwise I'd need to take the two downpipes convert them to one input for a single converter then take the single output and convert it to two for the dual exhaust.

The only models that come with dual outputs are for larger engines 5.7L+ and up, would using one be alright for the flow? I know using a smaller rated catalytic converter on a larger engine will restrict the flow but just want to make sure going higher won't cause problems with the flow since the engine isn't putting out the same power as the converter is rated for.

I don't know if the higher rated converters are more 'restrictive' since they are designed/rated for more powerful engines

With headlight switch on all other lights work - tail, interior, etc. The Hi beams do work if the turn signal is held back - but headlights do not work if the turn signal lever is left in lo or hi. Saw another question with same symptoms - and he resolved it with a new light switch. I hate to spend $100 + if that is not the cause. Other possibility may be turn signal multifunction switch - anyone have any input?

I wrecked my Firebird and have almost completely restored it to original except for the steering column (deployed airbag). I found a steering column with the airbag intact and the ignition key from the exact same year and model. Now that they are switched (everything matched up), all the lights and everything electrical works, but it won't turn over. Could it be that the keys have the little chip and the one from the new column is confusing my car?

right...
i had this debate with my husband... He is an excellent driver, but i think that so am I. As a woman, i can park in one go, (i find reverse parking easier than front parking) I can drive fast ( but safe) and i can overtake without crushing... I have no points on my licence and i love driving. I drive to work every day and I get to practice more than my hubby. Therefore, i am a better driver. However, my husband thinks he is. How can we get an independent advisor to " decide" ? I want to win, of course!
Women, do you think we are better drivers?

I have a brand new Lexus IS, with leather interior. My good friend brought her friend from out of town along and I let the two both smoke cigarettes in the backseat. I am a smoker as well. In the morning, there was a cigarette burn in the leather, on the seat. My friend says she didn't do it and she's sure, which means the burn belongs to her friend. Do I make my friend pay for something her out of town friend did? Or is it my car therefore my responsibility to fix it? What should I do?

Suggestions please!! Thank you.

I recently bought a used tire for my car and it had a seven day warranty. Two or three days after I bought it I was driving and suddenly my tire blew out and my car swerved to the right (it was the front right tire that blew) and I side swiped a parked truck. Could the company that sold me the tire be liable for some of the damages caused since the blown out tire is what caused the accident?

Also, I don't know if this makes any difference but the man that drove the tow truck said that it looked like the side of the tire blew out.
