I build points and test the signalling equipment here in the uk and would like to spend some time and maybe even emigrate to the states in the future so would like to know. In fact any railway job over there would happily suit me.

Anyone know?

If you mean signal maintainer in the union you can easily do $20 an hour and with overtime you can clean up. Plus signal maintainers get lots of OT. I am ex rail worker.

Signal maintainers, techs make up to $30 an hour. It's a good career, I bet it wouldn't take long get a job.
