That is an old wives tale at best. There was a time when they were selling those worthless magnets to any idiot who came up with a check in response to their ads in the back of a magazine.

Think about it. If all it took to increase mileage was putting some little magnets near the fuel the car manufacturers would be doing that instead of spending millions on redesigning engines for better gas mileage.

I am sure it is from the same idea as a board stretcher, or a sky hook. Maybe a quart of prop wash or 4 feet of flight line.
The best one I have been asked is how hot the water should be before cutting tempered glass under it.

like some have already stated.......it is one of the biggest hoaxes that ever hit the automotive airwaves and the scam magazines,,,,,,however there are people who actually believe that magnitism will affect gasolene consumption in an automobile engine.........,,you see they cant really be prosecuted for false advertisement or a scam because they will actually sell you a product.......two tiny little magnuts worth about 70 cents and charge you 14.95 plus shipping and handling ,there fore getting a twenty dollar bill for the order !!! believe me it happens every day.
