Does anyone know who does, or where I can get a replacement carb conversion for my Mercruiser mercarb 2BBL in the UK.
Being an American carb it pumps fuel in like Niagra falls and with todays fuel prices approaching £5 a gallon (close to $10.00 per gallon in case our US cousins are unaware of just how greedy the UK government is), I need to get more than 4 -5 mpg out of her to keep the costs within my comfort zone.
Absolute top end not important, river speed limits (6mph) and midrange punch to get on plane quickly are more important.

Weber do not list one.

Thanks in advance

I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado, 6-cyl. I go to turn the key and it seems that the starter is getting enough power, assuming from the strong and loud clicking sound, but it isn't turning on. Also the battery gage isn't moving when I turn the key, but all the other gages are. (gas, oil, temp gages) Thanks anyone!

It seems to me that the time between when a light turns from yellow to red has been tweaked for shorter intervals, especially when there is a traffic cam in place. I hate the thought of getting a moving violation for going though a red light, having my insurance go up, and lastly the thought of someone getting killed or injured because some idiot is in a hurry to get somewhere. Tell me what you think ?

A few times, when quickly accelerating, my car will sort of sputter. It is only for a moment and then it's fine. It doesn't do this every time, but occasionally. My check engine light was on and they discovered it was an EGR fluid code. The mechanic couldn't do it so I need to go somewhere else. I was wondering, is there a connection between these problems? How bad is this going to hurt (price)

thanks!

Okay this is bizarre. Here is my question. I have an '05 Dodge Neon.' When I dropped my girl off at school earlier it didnt wanna start (It had a starter bad like noise. When I turned the key it clicked ~not turning over~) It wasn't the battery cause it had good wattage... SO! I popped the clutch and got it started that way. Ever since then it has been starting fine. Granted it does need an oil change (Over due by almost 2,000 miles) but i don't think that has anything to do with the starter.... Does it? Do I need to take it to the shop....? What do you guys/girls think out there???

I have an 88 dodge dakota, it's making a hissing noise under the dash, when I press the brake pedal it stops, everyone's telling me it's the booster, and it makes sense. But before I go and replace it I'd really like to be sure.
Also; what can go wrong if I do it myself? Is it just a part that you buy and then swap out? Or is it more complex? Can I do it myself?
I'm a student, so I'm REALLY poor, if I absolutely had to I could save for a few months and have a mechanic do it, but I'd really rather do it myself.

A buddy and I have an ongoing argument. He thinks a windshield is made of tempered glass and I said it's not tempered it's laminated. We want to clear this up once and for all.

Have we not seen this a million times before…the end all of anti-theft devices…first it was keys to deter theft, alarm systems to deter, key-fobs with chips, and now On-Star’s debut into Theft deterrence.

When my insurance company gives me a lower premium for my car not being able to be stolen, then I’ll think about it.

But as long as a human being is involved in any endeavor, not only will mistakes be made, but the ability to elude and circumvent ANY system has always been with the ability of another human.

Features and gimmicks are a great way to move product, but I’m not buying it.

I bought some Quicksilver Power Tune. The directions say that you should spray it directly into the carbs with the motor running. Here's the dumb part of the question. Where are my carbs? Seriously. I have pulled the cowling off and looked, but I am not seeing what I would expect. It's a 1990 Mercury 115 hp 2 stroke, 4 cyl motor. I think that they are on the port side of the motor, but I am unfamiliar with the engine. Do I need to remove something else to be able to see the carbs and spray the Power tune into them?

IVE DONE IT BEFORE!!! So no one can say that it's not possible!!
I was driving an 07 Mustang gt...im not going to get into details about it because I dont want to get caught ...I was going East on a road I was racing a car that kept revving its engine at me so I floored it...than there was a stop light i barely was able to stop for......than i noticed a cop coming from the other direction so I just floored it cop turned his siren on i kept going straight about 2 miles and out of the side streets came 3 other cop cars they were all behind me (like I said Im not going to get into too much detail) I just kept going i was going over 100mph for sure than i madea aleft turn into the highway and I just floored it I hit 150mph and I tottally lost them!!!!
This was about 2am...
So for those of you who say that it isnt possible think again!!!
