I have a 1984 Chevy Camaro 2.8L. Its not a z or t-top but the insurance is low. The car is paid off but i dont know what to do. Three days after I bought it the tranny went out on it. I got that fixed but the list that the car has now, that I fixed is...
-starter
-battery& cables
-alt
-flywheel(flexplate)
-stereo
-electrical
-brakes
-rims
-tires
-exhaust

Thats the list but I like the car oviously but I want something better and I can afford 200 a month but the car is running real good and I havent had any problems with it in the last 6 months(knock on wood). I dont know if I should sell it or keep it.

Anyone have suggestions... it would help..

can some one please explain what tire sizes mean? for example what does 130/70-17 mean? width? height? etc.
the 2007 model was 130/80-16
the new 08 model is 130/70-17
does the new model have a wider rear tire?
Also do you guys think the new 08 will be any faster?

My neon has faded headlights. I was wondering how to "clear" them up without buying new ones. Something simple, I do not have power tools or stuff like that. Thanks!

I am so annoyed with the whole affair of our car its not even a year old yet and we have been treated very badly by the insurance assesors and then the garage keeping us waiting. The cost of the repairs were over £7,000.We had to have all new carpets, engine, turbo, starter motor etc.It was only because we went in and actually complained last week that we have now got our car back. The garage has had our car since july 11th,we were actually caught in the flood on the 4th.We got the car back yesterday and went out in it and it still smells, when my husband collected it he said he found the mats in the boot, the insurance company wouldnt replace those apparently ,even though they are made to fit our car and were in place and sat in the stagnant water for god knows how long at the garage. My husband feels we cant do anything now we have accepted it back,I dont agree I think the way we have been treated has been awful and want to take the car back because the smell to me is awfull. Can we?

I'm wondering about adding a system to my stock vehicle. Is it worth the money for an entry level system? Any info would be appreciated. Is there an "Idiots guide to water injection"?

I replaced the head gaskets on 1990 Chev 305. When starting first thing in morning, temperature rises to 240 or 250 before thermostat opens. After thermostat opens temperature runs fine, does not overheat. I replaced thermostat with a 160 degree. Temperature now rises to 220 to 230 when first started, when thermostat opens engine cools to around 160. No overheating occurs after thermostat opens.

I hear many people saying you should change your timing belt yada yada yada, however, does anyone know of anyone who has had engine failure due to timing belt not being replaced? It sounds to me like it's another way for car dealerships/manufacturers to rip off the American public. What do you think? By the way, I drove my 93 Nissan pathfinder for 135000 miles without changing a timing belt, however, there were other problems.

I had a bracket on my exhaust repaired a few days ago; I started smelling the rotten egg smell the day after. The mechanic of course said he didn't do it but I know it wasn't smelling like that b 4 I took it in. Someone told me just let the smell go away since the check engine light is not on however another person told me to get the coverter changed. I am wondering if it's safe to park my car in the attached garage because the smell does come into the house. Thx

I recently hopped the curb in my Vibe hatchback, damaged the driver's front side tire and rim, no body damage. I had the tire and rim replaced, however I also need to replace the control arm. Now, I had the part ordered, but I know that control arms aren't parts that are often replaced. I need the car to be fixed by next week for school and work, and I'm worried the part won't be here in time, and that the costs are going to be crazy.

of the car- if your standing in front of the car, your looking at it to your left. He said it is the rack and pinion- I can't afford to fix-replace that, what about the steering fluid stop leak stuff?
Will it at least stop the squeel/sqweek when I start the car-at least any suggestions to slow the leak, or lose that sqeeking noise?
Thanks now

I had 3 diagnostic tests done @ Autozone and they showed it was oxygen sensor or cat converter. The car drives kind of loud, bad gas mileage and stalls after driving for 30 mins. When it stalls it can start up again.. other times it starts up just to stall again.

The garage I have always used said I had a fuse problem.. they fixed it and said all I have to pay is the $50 for checking it out. Does this make sense about the fuse? Could a fuse do this much damage to the car?

I have been trying to figure out this brake system. First of all, the rear brakes stopped working, there was no fluid at all. I bled the abs unit, adjusted the rear drum brakes, and inspected the lines, finally the rear was working. They are still working and it was fine for awhile. There is a hissing sound when you apply the brake, and it shifts the motor down when you apply the brake. i can hear a vacuum leak under the hood at the back of the motor, but i can't seem to find it. The hissing sound and the way the motor changes when the brake is applied, I'm sure it's a vacuum leak. Anyone have any common problems and have had solutions as to where the leak may be?
