I have a 1984 Chevy Camaro 2.8L. Its not a z or t-top but the insurance is low. The car is paid off but i dont know what to do. Three days after I bought it the tranny went out on it. I got that fixed but the list that the car has now, that I fixed is...
-starter
-battery& cables
-alt
-flywheel(flexplate)
-stereo
-electrical
-brakes
-rims
-tires
-exhaust

Thats the list but I like the car oviously but I want something better and I can afford 200 a month but the car is running real good and I havent had any problems with it in the last 6 months(knock on wood). I dont know if I should sell it or keep it.

Anyone have suggestions... it would help..

It also has a new heater coil and new lighting for the interior and exterior.

Well, it really depends on where you want to go with it. You can always swap in an engine for performance, if that is the route you want to go. Unless you have a few grand to toss down for a down payment, even with a trade in you won't get too terribly much for 200 a month...Sure it will be new, but if you save that money and any other you get and toss it on a LS1 swap, or another performance swap (not sure what all is available for the camaro) then you would not only have a nice performance machine, but also would have (hopefully) built it yourself, and learned a lot about your vehicle in the process.

Well, I would actually prefer the 1992 IROC-Z28, as they are the 25 year anniversary model, and look great. Though you should keep it until you think you can't stand it anymore, then get a newer (comparatively) one.

That's a lot of car for a little engine.

Howabout a 1996 or 1997 like
<--------this one. Under $4000. and runs great. (not for sale)

ADDED:
Keep yours untill it dies again.
It's dependable, good on gas, and pretty good looking cars.
