I've got a new sound coming from my 99 Toyota Camry. When I push on the brakes, I hear a humming sound from the front of the car. Any ideas?

brake pads need replacing or there is something stuck inbetween....drive backwards and pump the brakes and it may dislodge or replace pads

If this humming is at a high speed your front brakes may have a warp in them. Anotherclude to this would be as you apply the brakes the brake pedel will feel it is going up and down under your foot.
Two other throughts comes to mind is your anti-vibration plates could need looking at or your brake pads have worn down. Bit the best idea is take it to a garage and get it looked at.............Brakes are very important.!

Most brake pads have small metal parts that contact the brake rotor when they are getting worn. This is to let you know its time time to replace the brake pads.

replace the brake pads. Disk brakes have a warning clip installed that rubs against the rotor when the pads are worn out to warn you to replace the pads.

Have your brakes ever been replaced ? If not the sound could be the noise makers in the brakes to alert you that your brake pads need replacd.
