not at 17 you cant ,you,ll have to wait until your 18,and even then its going to be very expensive to buy ,that's the law everywhere now though, good luck.

You do not need your parents permission to get an insurance policy in at least 5 states that I know of. I have never had a parent cosign on an insurance application and there has never been a problem of coverage if there was an accident. So, go & get a policy. The first place I would start would be your parents' agent since they already know your family. Otherwise, get out the phone book & start calling. Probably the best place to start would be Progressive agents (they seem to have the best rates for younger drivers) & get an agent so that they can explain all the coverages to you. If the agent is not willing to explain & just gives you a minimum limits quote, run away as fast as you can & find someone else. If you get coverage online without knowing what is available & what you need & what the coverages are, it could come back to bite you. Please get higher than the minimum limits in your state.
Good luck to you.

Got to be 18 to sign a contract. Most companies can add you onto your parents insurance and you could pay them the difference.

no. sorry. it is illegal to make a contract with a minor. So no company can issue you insurance at 17.

No, unless you're an emancipated minor.
