C - for metric bolts.

Standard bolts use A

Slashes on the head of the bolt are for SAE(american) bolts.

Metric bolts will have a number to show the grade.


The thread pitch has nothing to do with its grade. You can find both fine and standard pitch bolts in most grades.

The color of a bolt may just be the coating applied to the bolt.
You can find some bolts that are colored to denote a grade(I use one local supplier that has all its Grade 8 bolts colored blue)
