I was consimplating on selling my T-bird.
it has 40,000 orginal miles and is in mint condition.
what do you think I should ask? or better yet what is it worth?
please don't give any web sites as they don't help me, a person who knows classic cars is what I am looking for.

The Japanese are nuts about classic cars, my neighbour sold his 62 for 40,000USD.
it was in mint condition.
Good luck

As with any classic car, it's what the market will bear. Book values are somewhat helpful but don't always reflect actual selling prices. You haven't mentioned what model and options your car has. This can make a huge difference. If it's a Sport Roadster with tri-power it is worth a lot more than a standard hardtop with a 4bbl 390. Looking on eBay can give you an idea but I can't answer without knowing the particulars.

as pat said all birds are not created equal..
and location is just as important....where is it from? a west coast car is wort 3 or more times what is considered a flawless car from the rust prone east...
but people in the east will pay way more than it is worth in California

all that being said i sold a fair condition 1960 last year for $13,000...it was the left over parts from when i put my wife's 60 together..
this was a complete mechanically sound Calif .car in good driving condition.
i painted it white and re dyed the upholstery ...but to be flawless it needed to rebuilt from the ground up

trying to sell a car like this is tough...
it is a cash only business..
and to make maters worse people with over $10,000 to spend want a tri5 chevy , or more popular mussel car...
or true street rod....
who ever gave me a thumbs down....just how many t-birds have you fixed up and sold ?...

I've seen a few 62's and they were priced all around $25,000. but had a little more miles on it than yours. It all depends on if you want it gone or want more money. I know you dont wanna hear about other websites but I would go on TraderOnline and look at those cars like your and judge if yours is better and judge the price.

NEED MORE INFO ON THE PARTICULARS OF YOUR VEHICLE BUT I WOULD SAY SOMEWHERE BETWEEN $25,000 TO $40,000.
