Many first year flight attendants have roommates. Flight attendants actually make the best roommates since they aren't home half the time. They also may have a husband or boyfriend they live with and just work as a flight attendant for the travel experiences and the extra money. And, when you are away from home so much, you don't need the biggest and fanciest place in town.

Veteran flight attendants make considerably more than this, so they have no problem living anywhere.

First year pay is abysmal, especially at some place like Mesa. Most get wise and leave before the year is out. The abuse, low pay, and petty BS that these girls have to put up with is intolerable.

Jet doc pretty much summed it up well.

Most of them don't LIVE in NYC. They may share a crash pad there with a dozen other flight attendants, but they are home-based at other cities on the airline's route.

That seems awful low for being a Flight attendant. Most flight attendants that I know, make over $50k a year.
