Driver side along rear frame rail.

On your 1996 Chevrolet Camaro 3.8L SFI , the Fuel Filter is located:
Under vehicle, driver side, below seating area, front of rear wheelwell, mounted on chassis in fuel line

If you don't relieve the fuel pressure by pushing the schrader valve pin inwards on the fuel injection rail, then when you try to disconnect the fuel filter, gasoline will spray all over everywhere including into your eyes if you look real closely while your removing it! Under the car.
Drivers side.
Just in front of the rear tire.

The fuel lines can be tricky. The little white plasic clips need to be removed before you can pull the lines off.

Very close to the fuel tank at the back of the car.
