Have we not seen this a million times before…the end all of anti-theft devices…first it was keys to deter theft, alarm systems to deter, key-fobs with chips, and now On-Star’s debut into Theft deterrence.

When my insurance company gives me a lower premium for my car not being able to be stolen, then I’ll think about it.

But as long as a human being is involved in any endeavor, not only will mistakes be made, but the ability to elude and circumvent ANY system has always been with the ability of another human.

Features and gimmicks are a great way to move product, but I’m not buying it.

WHAT IS YOUR QUESTION??????? we understand the venting and the rest of us know that if your car is so high powered and precious that it would be best for you to lock it inside a secure garage and keep it off the street --- this way we won't be subjected to your insurance company and your lousy driving that goes along with your dubious manner in which you have attacked the theft problems of our nation AND your ride .. .........<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Cancel theft recovery? If your insurance offers discounts for ONstar, you still have costs associated with the theft and recovery of a vehicle.
ONstar costs $16.00 dollars a month. How much is your discount saving you now?

I think it is a great idea to have the capability to shut down the engine if your vehicle gets stolen. It is better then having your vehicle involved in a high speed chase that can kill people or armed robbery, etc.
Kudo's to GM for thinking this one through!
