yeah you can get the extreme package. it puts the trim parts on it, and lowered suspension. also 18" wheels and performance tires. And yes, rumor mill is that in the next couple years the colorado will get a v-8 as the H3 Hummer is slated to get a 5.3 liter v8 in it. The colorado and H3 are built on the same platform. with the colorados stagnant sales, a v8 would solve a big problem causing the majority of complaints of the colorado, that being lack of power in both the 4 and 5 cylinder engines in it.

Get it. The media blew the hype of the recalls to pieces. The Colorado is trash (underpowered 5 cyl and sucks the daylights out of gas.) Look up a 2006 Tacoma that has the same options as your Colorado (don't forget to include body style). I have a 2004 Tacoma Crew Cab, 4WD with both TRD and SR5 packages. It has 90,000 miles on it and is paid for. The nada retail is almost $19000, and it was no more than $30000 new (I work at a toyota dealer.) It's a 6 year old truck and it only lost $11000 in value! My point: given this situation, they can't be junk, contrary to popular belief. Find a 6 year old chevy worth $19k. You can't. Even if you did, the Tacoma is considered a "compact truck". The only Chevy even close to this number would be a full-size. Would you pay a nice chunk of change for a piece of junk? Of course not. Stay away from GM, though. You already pay taxes to the government each year, and now you're giving the government even more by buying one of its products. (the government owns 60% of GM). While you're at it, ask anyone you know that drives a Chevy why the government had to give them money to stay alive. If I recall correctly, Toyota never did. Then ask yourself: which is REALLY the bigger piece of junk?

Buy a toyota tacoma or a tundra.
Chevy has transmission issues, and their engines have no pulling power.
