My Dad told me that I need a new car. His policy is that once a car has its first problem it needs to be replaced. I really do not want a new car and do not know what to get. I have a 4runner right now and am content. He said that with the sell of my car I will have about 60k toward a new one. What do I get? It has to be a turck or SUV. At least that is what he says, but I really do not care.

In studies of people between 21-65 who use their cell-phones while driving, the reports stated the behavior of the drivers closely resembled someone who had a .08 alcohol level(2 drinks) due to inattention, tailgating, swerving in and out of lanes, speeding up-slowing down, and lack of turn signal use

It went out all of a sudden it was working fine one minute and then not at all the next. When I push the pedal down it doesn't seem to engage the clutch at all. Any ideas as to what could be the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Reflexes of an elephant, breaking distances of a 1960's car, handles like a drunk walking a narrow corridor, MPG that keep us slaves to the pump, and that perception of being "safe", as if healthy LOOKING hair is actually healthy hair.

Another prime example of this falacy brought on by the media to induce fear in the public, that you will not be safe unless you have a vehicle the size of Montana.

People sue the auto companies when ABS first came out...they didn't expect even to get in a crash, or Cruise Control which was mistaken for "auto-pilot". Now we have whole new generation of safe drivers...on the cell-phone, fading in and out of traffic like a drunk.

My son wants to be a "REAL" Auto mechanic, and I have no idea what route to take. By real I mean someone who can work on high end autos (BMW, Etc) He just started high school and they have no automotive program.I dont want him to go to a fly-by-night tech school and end up doing brake jobs and oil changes. Anyone have any real experience with Wyotech? What would be the best path.

We've got a 97' Chevy Blazer that won't start when it's rained out. Obviously we're getting water under the hood and it prevents the truck from starting, but any ideas where we could start the troubleshooting? On dry days it runs just fine.

I'm eighteen years old and am looking to buy a 04 Mustang GT. What I need to know is who would be the best insurance company to go with. I'm looking to join the Army within the next two months and haven't completed high school (Going for my GED). If those are contributing factors to lowering or raising my insurance, please let me know as well.

Thank you

Hi all..I had a quick look through the previous threads but could'nt see anything exactly like the problem I'am having, apologies if I've missed it.
I have a 97 expedition / auto transmission and when I start it in the morning it goes into gear no problem. However, when you press down on the accelerator it's like your revving the engine in neutral then suddenly it's like the gear engages and it lurches since you have the accelerator down. You have to be real careful you're not near anything. Any ideas what I could go look for as the problem?

Thanks

I am about to do a LGV 2 drving test and have recently been told that the new law states that the test must be done in a 8 changer gearbox lorry and not a 6 one which i have trained up in. Could anyone just confirm if this is true?

I observed one time at the railyard in Albuquerque to see if I could see any hitching or unhitching of cars going on. I saw nothing.

I always thought the railyard was some big stopping area for the trains similair to a truckstop. Heck I even envisioined the corporate offices as being there and basically anything having to do with the railroad there. Now looking at it I just see a bunch of abandoned buildings.

In a previous question about railroad signals someone stated that many accidents happened in her town becuase the things did not come down sometimes. Well I have complete trust in the things, I always prefer crossings that have them so I don't have to look both ways. If the things arent down or starting to come down I just go right through crossing.
