I live in Washington state and today I was on the freeway driving back home and I wanted to get into the left lane so that I wouldn't get off the exit that was coming up because the lane that I was currently on said that if I stayed in that lane, I had to get off that exit. So on the left there was an oversize load truck and I didn't see the van that was following behind and I got in between the oversize load truck and the van. I'm pretty sure you all know that when there's an oversize load truck, it usually has a van or some vehicle that follows behind it for precautions I guess. So I just want to know, am I going to get a ticket for being in the middle of the two? When I switched into that lane, I was only in for about 20 seconds and then got back out.

What should i check first i have a 1993 ford explorer XLT and the 4x4 won't engage. I push the button and nothing, I have auto hubs. Before it went out i was just playing arround in the mud and a few days later, my 4x4 engage's by it's self. The only way i could turn it off was by turning my car off and back on. Sence then nothing. Any ideas of what i could be or what i should check first.

I understand the danger of driving around with pure oxygen, but what if I used a small tank of O2 and let it “leek” near the air intake? Would that have the ,somewhat, effect of a supercharger? I mean I’m increasing the # Moles of O2, thus the engine’s efficiency. Not for everyday use, but for when I take it out racing.

My car battery is draining overnight. I checked my alternator output while running and it's fine. I checked my amperage draw with the car off and it's about 250 milliamps, normal right? The battery was put in about 9 months ago. Could the battery be bad?
P.S. The car is a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi

Its a 1975 40hp Evinrude outboard. I have a 89 15hp evinrude and i can see it circulating water and coming out through the spout on the bottom on the motor casing. However the 75 doesn't have the same spout and im not sure where it comes out or if it is even supouse to. I have experiance with newer motors but i haven't dealt with older motors. Any imput would be apperciated.

I have a 2004 Ford Taurus and while I was on long distance drive the "check transmission" indicator came on. I checked the tranny fluid level and it was find.
The weird thing about it is that it went away when I restarted the engine, but came on again after some miles.
Also, ever since this problem occured I've been hearing somekind of noise ( ratttling\static) underneath the engine especially when I first start it in the morning, and the engine sometimes idle high. On a another occasion, the car couldn't go fast on reverse even when I press the gas pedal almost all the way.

I'm thinking it might be a electrical problem but not sure.

Would a engine diagnostic be able to tell me what's wrong with the car?

Thanks!!!!

I bought a boat with twin 470 series engines and one of them needs some crank work done. Does anyone know of any automotive parts such as bearings and timing gear that interchange with this engine? The engine uses a ford 460 head, piston, and rod, but the main bearings are not 460. Does anything interchange or an I going to have to deal with the leeches at the marine shops? Thanks

I have a 95 Civic Hatchback DX.

I have recently had problems with my brakes. It seems to only happen when I am on hills (usually downhill).

When I put on my brakes (Only on rare occasions:Usually downhill) they sometimes go all the way to the floor. I have also noticed that now the brakes pulsate too(when braking downhill) and the pedal sometimes isn't to the floor and it still pulsates.

I checked the brake fluid and its nearly to the top of the line. Though I need to have the brake fluid changed because it's kinda on the dark side.

Anyone know what it could be?
I'm taking it to the mechanic on the weekend but, I'd just like to know in case he doesn't bring up any suggestions as possible problems. Then I can address it.

I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima.

When I put a CD in I have a chance that it won't work. It'll kick the CD out 2, 3, 10, 20, 50 times (sometimes more), saying "Check Disc" or "CD ERROR F2".

This happens with old, new, and burned CD's, so it's not the CD's themselves. This happens with CD's that never had a problem. I've noticed that the stereo tends to ruin the bottoms of the CD's, too - scratching them up something awful.

The drawback is the CD player is built into the center console, behind it, and the large LCD display (where the nav is), connects to it. Special buttons are built into the console to function with the CD player. Since the player is hidden, any stereo system I'd buy would be worthless since the buttons and display would also be behind the panel, and it likely wouldn't interface with the existing buttons/screen.

How can I replace it with a different system? Is that possible? Or can it only be replaced by another Nissan stereo?

My wife and I are having our second child and are looking into buying minivans. I know SQUAT about cars. She prefers the imports (like Honda Odyssey) and her biggest requirement is power sliding doors, and reliability. Me, I'm just cheap, so I want to spend as little as possible. I'm trying to compare for example, a 2003 Odyssey vs a 2006 or even 2007 Caravan. I know imports have a reputation of longer life and less maintenance, but does that hold true when compared to a domestic that's several years newer?
