We've got a 97' Chevy Blazer that won't start when it's rained out. Obviously we're getting water under the hood and it prevents the truck from starting, but any ideas where we could start the troubleshooting? On dry days it runs just fine.

you probably need to change the spark plugs and wires on it if they draw moisture it will make them not start good,id also look and see that the coil pack is on good and tight it any water gets around it and beads up it wont start, basically a good tune up will probably do it a lot of good, that would be the best thing to do is just do a real good tune up,and if the problem still exist you can rule a lot of things out on it,without having it tuned you can replace parts all day long and still never get to the actual problem with it,good luck hope this helps.

Spray down the ignition wires and cap/rotor with WD-40---if problem goes away or minimizes after a rain, replace those components---they are arcing due to moisture conditions.

I would say you have some exposed wires somewhere where water might get or water could be getting into the main computer. Also have you checked for water leaks that may be leaking water into a spot where electrical is.

if you have a distributor - take off the distributor cap and shoot wd 40 into it. That will probably cure your problem. good luck.
