My Dad told me that I need a new car. His policy is that once a car has its first problem it needs to be replaced. I really do not want a new car and do not know what to get. I have a 4runner right now and am content. He said that with the sell of my car I will have about 60k toward a new one. What do I get? It has to be a turck or SUV. At least that is what he says, but I really do not care.

Seriously forget I asked. My dad is not an idiot. We both know that I cannot get 60K for my runner. There are other ways to buy a car. I can probably get 20k for my 03 limited runner. By the way 4runners are the #1 value holding suvs on the market. and I am 19. I really wish there was a way to delete this question

You can sell a 4runner for 60k?????? Great. If you want to keep the car, then keep it. Just because something went wrong and a part failed, it doesn't mean that the car is junk. If that was the case, you would only see one or two year old cars on the highway.
Keep the car you want, and tell Dad that you will have more money saved when you do sell the car and be able to get a better car next time. good luck.

First of all your dad is an idiot, there's no way you can get 60k for an '03 4runner, not even a brand new one costs anywhere close to that, if it isn't giving you any problems then just keep it. BTW, are you like 10

I agree with the above comment the 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid is coming out - it looks pretty nice too. BTW, how can you get 60k for a 4runner?? that thing is only worth about 30k...new.

well you must be rather lucky for your ol' man to get you a 60k car. I was not as fortunate and had to settle for a used car so I picked a 2003 Ferrari 360 it had a few miles on it but oh well I guess I can deal with it the only thing I had to trade was my Hayabusa he didnt want me to have an accident but I still wanted something fast
