Its intermittent non start, the ignition switch tested ok. I replaced fuse box 18 months ago, why does this keep hapenning to me? ps the dealer wont discount it even though they replaced it 18 months ago, as only had 1 year warranty.

Its an automatic transmision. Is there a certified GM Technician out there that can testify that a fuse box, absent another problem, should last many years (more than 2) (in South Florida)?
This costs $600 + to replace and isnt right!

What is the starter relay in the fuse box, and has anyone heard of this being resposible for an only intermittant non start?

You don't mention how you knew it was the fuse box in the first place. Dealer tell you? If I had to hazard a guess, I am guessing it's not the fuse box. When you have the problem, see if it'll start in neutral instead of park. It sounds like you have a bad park switch. If it starts in neutral, that could be it. The best rule is to replace the cheapest part first, then work your way up. I'd move from the park switch to the solenoid, as a small insulation burn can result in intermittent non start and not show on the diagnostic because it's self correcting. Did your computer store any error codes when it wouldn't start? Most auto parts stores will hook up to your car and give you the error codes for free. You also don't mention what kind of non start problem. Does it crank but not fire, do the lights all disappear like a short, do you get nothing at all.
Contact GM's regional manager, (the dealer has to give you his name if you ask), explain that this is the second time they've needed to replace it. If you get no help from the regional, go to the district. Keep working your way up until you get some resolution. Be polite, but firm, and don't back down. They can't hurt you, all they can do is not pay for the fuse box.

You don't specify if car has std. or auto. transmission. Most likely, it was not the fuse box, fuse links maybe, starter motor, including cables maybe, if auto trans. have the solenoid check.
