I have a 96 buick regal and I just had front brakes done today. He put in new front pads (lifetime warranty), new front rotors (two year warranty) Inspected rear brakes and they were fine. He did a couple of other small checks and did not find anything wrong. He charged me $286 including labor, parts and tax. Is this a fair deal? Just wondering.

I have a Power Acoustik LX2-1000 amplifier and there is a switch on the amplifier that says LPF, Full, or HPF. Now the instructions for the amplifier say that the switch should be on LPF if your running one subwoofer for low pass filter, and HPF for high pass filter. It doesnt say what Full is for but I'm guessing its a little of both. I was switching them around and when the switch is in the Full position I believe my sub is performing/sounding better than when its in the LPF position. Is this damaging my sub or amplifier by having it in the Full position rather then the LPF position?

I like the look of dodge but have heard that their transmitions are not that good. My dad loves ford and I grew up with them but there were problems with them along with recalls. A good friend of mine likes chevy and he would not get a different kind of vehicle. I just want to get the vehicle that would be the best to hold up to the great outdoors.

I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox, purchased from a Chevy dealer at the time this new SUV was released (about 3 years ago). Was one of the first to have this car in my area.

I just took it to a small, family-owned business this morning to have a trailer hitch installed (not my family, but the only other place we've had service on this vehicle is the dealership). When I went to pick up, the owner told me that it looked like it had been in a flood-- when they were installing the hitch they found internal bolts that were rusted that should not be with normal use.

Since we bought from a dealership as new, was not told it had any damage previously, and really have not had any mechanical issues from this supposive flood-- what do I do now?

Any legal experts out there? I live in New York State.

Thanks!

I've changed all the float needles, and two of the four carbs are still flooding badly. The only thing I can put it down to, is a float level drama. Can anyone help with the following questions? a) what height to set the floats?, and b) is the measurement to be taken with the carbs up-side-down, or right way up? Every other carb component is O.K. This bike has massive sentimental value, so just throwing it away, isn't an option. For it's sake, though. It's lucky there's not an active volcano close by !!!

I give the the truck gas and it stops. I have had the truck for four years. 2001 F150 w/76000 miles. New belt and some belt dressing out of frustration. Tensioner is plenty tight still. Fluid is full. Gear box is coated in rust, looks like the rust that gets on something freshly grinded on and left out over night. Gear box has hose coming from it that covered in oil buildup, no known leaks from engine to explain the oil on the hose. Is my gearbox going bad? It looks like it has been replaced to me. How can I check to see if the gearbox is bad or if the pump is bad?

Tonight I went out to my '99 Toyota RAV4, turned it on, turned on the headlights, and the temperature console did not light up inside the car. Everything else lit up, just not the part where you choose the temperature and where the air blows. The A/C button right next to the console was lit, but the console itself wasn't. What could this be? Thanks!

So after buying a 2004 Sebring LX fell through, it looks like I am getting a Sunfire.
It's got 50,000km on it, excellent condition (except a/c does not work), it's a 2004 umm...4 cylinder, 4 door sedan, silver in color.
Am going to pay $7,300 for it.
Do you guys think this is a good deal and what are your experiences with them?
I wanted a "sportier" looking car like the Sebring with tinted windows, sunroof, etc. lol. But my parents seem to think this is more economical and they're getting it, so I may as well not argue!
Thanks in advance for the thoughts/opionions!
