Just the other day, I was driving on a busy street, and a man pulled out of a side street and hit my vehicle right in the side. My vehicle went sliding and by the time I gained control of it, I was facing the opposite direction--his hit turned me completely around. This man tried to get away, but others who heard the hit ran and prevented him from leaving the scene. Police showed up, and decided this was not a hit and run as he did not get away. This man has no insurance. We only had limited coverage for other drivers and no uninsured motorist coverage. So we are out of luck with getting the extensive work covered on our vehicle. I was with my children at the time, and we are all fine, and I thank God for that. But considering I did not break the law, isn't there anything that I can do to get money from this man? Also, will he serve time for this? I understand it is against the law to drive without insurance. Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

next year i will be leasing a new car after my bmw 530i lease is up. currently i have two cars in my mind one is ford mustang gt, the other one is the upcomming 2008 dodge challenger. i know that after driving a bmw, its going to be depressing to drive any of these two cars, however i am tired of paying over $900 on payments. so which car should i get 2008 ford mustang gt which is 4.6 v8 about 300hp or the 2008 dodge challenger which is 6.1 v8 about 450hp and cost between 25,000-30,000. i need honest answers from people who have own mustangs and other american cars.

I have no one to co-sign for me because the only people that I've considered have bad credit. I saved up $8,000 and have good credit. Will I be able to buy a car on my own or will I still need a co-signer? Thank you.

Question, can anybody tell me what happens if i'm going top speed on 3rd gear and then release the gas without touching the clutch or the shifter. Will the car maintain the minimum speed for 3rd gear or will it continuously decrease speed like an automatic transmission.

i was wondering how difficult it is to pass the written exam, and if it would be much more helpful if i took a ground school course. I have already asked my instructor but I'm looking for a second opinion.

sit and rev up by itself to about 3000 rpm and then drop back to about 900 rpm. Today it quit and i tried holding the accelerator to the floor and then not accellerating. It finally started when i "Pumped" the accelerator. Could it be the throttle position sensor, or does it even have one.

I know that my ac charge is low, I was planning on refilling myself but when I attach the gauge it fluctuates from low to high. I am afraid my compressor may be bad and do not want to damage anything else....

thanks for any insight!

when i accelerate i don't have the power i used to and i hit a wall power wise about 50 mph, with the peddle to the floor. when i get out and pop the hood my fuel filter (clear) is not full anymore, and my fuel pump (1 week old) is making a clicking noise. i was thinking not enough fuel is being pumped, or timing?

HD's are measurably the worst motorcycle in the world. HD's are not "Made in America", have Japanese parts all over them, poor performance and worse handling. If the only thing that you can point at as an attribute is that it's loud and obnoxious, while it shivers, shakes and falls apart...why would I (or anyone) actually want to own one? Truth is HD (As a corporate entity) does exactly one thing better than any other Motorcycle Maker..It markets accessories. In fact HD makes more $$ selling apparel and other misc. junk than they make on motorcycles. (Regardless that HD Bikes are over-priced, low performance, embarassing piece's of "Machinery"). So I guess this question is based on how did;Tattoos, Smoking, Drinking, Drugs and Stupid behavior ever get associated with Harley, and what HD Genius decided to exploit it? Last thing, I have owned more than 75 bikes of virtually every make (including HD) and my opinion is based on an excess of 500,000 miles & 30 years in the wind. (Ride on)

I installed 4 new tires on my toyota highlander.
i noticed that the weights on the rims are much smaller on the back vs the front of my rims. I can actually see the indentation marks of the older and longer weights I used to have. Will this have any impact when I rotate my tires or will it have any impact on the life of the tire? I noticed that when I drive between 60-70mph the steering wheel has a slight vibration so I was wondering if it might be from these new, smaller weights that the tire shop put on my back rims. Why would they only install smaller weights on the back rims by the way?

I brought my 01 Elantra to the shop with a bad transmission (wouldn't go into any gear). The guy first said he might get to it later that day but he “didn’t know if he could get the right parts because it was a Friday afternoon”. He quoted me $600. I called at the end of the day and he said it wouldn't be until Monday or later. He was shorthanded on Monday so he didn't get to look at it. He said it was just a broken pin and that the transmission itself was fine. He had to take it apart and put a new pin in. I call Tuesday, and he said it will now cost over $1,000 (all in labor, even though he said before “it’s hard to get parts on a Friday”) and that it'd be ready Wednesday. The car was taken in from the yard Tuesday around 10:30 am, and I called at 2 p.m. He was quoting me $1,000 in labor even though I know it sat in the lot for a while. This is a small transmission-specific shop.

I need the car ASAP so I have to pay, but am I getting screwed and if so what can I do? Contact the BBB?
