next year i will be leasing a new car after my bmw 530i lease is up. currently i have two cars in my mind one is ford mustang gt, the other one is the upcomming 2008 dodge challenger. i know that after driving a bmw, its going to be depressing to drive any of these two cars, however i am tired of paying over $900 on payments. so which car should i get 2008 ford mustang gt which is 4.6 v8 about 300hp or the 2008 dodge challenger which is 6.1 v8 about 450hp and cost between 25,000-30,000. i need honest answers from people who have own mustangs and other american cars.

I think your in for a difficult transition but i would go with the challenger they are both decent looking outside but the ford is very cheep inside and from what Ive see the challenger looks like it will have at least a decent interior. the 450Hp only helps its case, plus everyone and there mother doesn't own one. Mustang's are a dime a dozen.

I would go with the Ford Mustang GT because it still possess
the spirit and essense of the 1st generation Ford Mustang. With the proper color, rims, set-up and other options it looks better than the Pontiac GTO. And after 42 years Ford Mustang is still going strong and will continue to do so for another 50 years.
And as for a Pontiac GTO turning head, thats funny. GTO looks like a beef up Pontiac Grand Prix.
The 2008 Dodge Challengers look good also with the Muscle to back it up. But consider the following: Insurance rate between the Mustang and the Challenger, and second the total out the door price betwen the two. But also consider this, get the car that you would not mind paying monthly for.

My rule of thumb is never get a new car first year out but in this case the new Challenger Hemi would be my first choice.
Having owned the real thing (72 Challenger Rallye 340) it was and is a great looking car and with the technology updates it will be a good one to go out and just enjoy, and it might be reasonably practicle as the Hemi does have the option to cut out up to four cylinders for some decent mileage...I simply can't think of a real downside to the Challenger.
Do me one thing if you get it, LIGHT UP THE TIRES ONCE FOR ME!

Your money, your choice. If you really want something instead ot the Mustang GT why not try the Shelbe GT500? That is a car that will turn heads and have people looking at it. Anything with Shelby's name on it is fine with me. You can also register it with the SAAC club and you will always have a record of the car. good luck

I have a Charger and its great...check with your insurance to see who is rated better and what will be the most cost wise..buying a car is such a commitment good to see that other people do research before impulse buying...
