Hello out there,
quick question for those mechanics out there. I was told today that I need to get both front axles replaced today and was quoted ($300-400, $125 for the part and $40hr for the labor) an amount that when discussed with family said was to high they (my two uncles) told me they were able to get the parts for $60 for both. Although Im not begrudging the labor fee, I do want to know what is the norm for getting this kind of work done on a car? Any helpful opinions would be welcomed. Thank you.

Hi,

A while back I got a speeding ticket in Staten Island, to which I pleaded not guilty and have a hearing in september. Recently I found out that at the time that I got the ticket, my licence was suspended. The officer somehow missed that and ticketed me only for speeding. Is this admissable in court to dismiss my ticket or does this information only get me into more trouble?

To elaborate my question, If a speeding ticket is issued to a suspended licence, is it a valid ticket? and if they realize that I was driving with a suspended licence a few months back, will I be in trouble now?

I did not know my licence was suspended, had changed my address and all correspondance was going to my old address which I thought usps would forward, but...!

any help will be GREATLY appreciated!

Other systems (TVs, Audio equipment etc) age real fast. Why are most driving manual still.
(I'm not for or against either, just curious!)

Hopefully by november, i will be able to acquire a 2006/07 honda civic coupe. Haven't decided if I should take out a loan or lease for 2 or 3 years. I also plan on selling my '97 ford explorer sport. Does anyone think I could get a good deal on a trade in for that kind of model?

Hi, I have a 1996 Nissan 240sx that stalled going down the road. I took it to a local garage that works on foreign cars, they said the motor was gone prior to popping the hood. Today they called back and said that the car has no compression in any of the 4 cylinders and I should sell it for use in drifting... The Nissan dealership is located too far away to take my car to. Can someone give me an idea of what may be the problem? One cam is turning and the other one was blocked so I couldn't see it, the car has never smoked, has oil in it, and only 100,000 miles.

Hey. I got a 1999 Honda Civic DX. For some reason, I am not able to see the time nor anything on the radio display at night. So I was wondering if that is the way how it should be or if it is messed up... Thanx in advance for the helpers
