No no no!!

Never put ATF in your brake system. Will turn any seals to mush and then NO BRAKES.
If you run low on brake fluid and it is an emergency, use plain water, take it easy so you don't over heat I would suppose, and you just bleed the system when you do get the proper fluid.

If you want to put brake fluid in to your tranny, well, at least you probably won't kill anybody else.

bypass to the automobile factors save and ask for brake fluid. The reservior is on the driving force area close to the rear of the engien compartment. save in mind that brakes are a closed equipment, and if the fluid is low your pads are probably on the brink of being wiped out. Brake fluid doesnt in simple terms evaporate.

I'm going against the grain here and saying YES! Then we can all watch for a question about how to re-build a transmission or where to find a good body shop after your brakes fail.
All joking aside, Take the advice from above and never open the hood again.

NO! Absolutely not the same! A brake system takes DOT3 'Brake Fluid' and a transmission takes transmission fluid! In the case of your Jeep you should use only 'Dexron' automatic transmission fluid.

No!

While they are similar in their hydraulic properties, both fluids have additional components in them that will not be compatible. Never mix one and the other.

OK, I'm also assuming you are talking Auto transmission? Cuz if it's a stick, the fluids are even more different.
