Everyday I drive home and I get stuck behind people who like to do 50 on the freeway with no one in front of them, or they decide that they want drive 35 in a 50 zone for no reason. Why is this?

Just Breathe and calm down. Driving 15 or so miles below the speed limit can be dangerous, but being a jerk and tailing these people or cutting them off can be deadly. Perhaps some of these individuals are on meds, or have there minds elsewhere (like the death of a loved one) or they are just nervous about driving or maybe their (or your) speedometer is not working right. Just be thankful that you don't have whatever circumstances that they do. Just be kind when passing these individuals and remember that they are someones child, parent, grandparent or friend. Treat them like you would your own family or friends.

On some roads, there is a posted Minimum speed.
In most states, it is illegal to impede traffic.
If you're driving at 50 in a 65 zone, and have more than 3 vehicles behind you, you must pull over and allow them to pass. If you don't, you can be ticketed in several stares.
Too bad it's not ALL states!

Wow, in my area it is the opposite. Driving 75-80 in a 65 zone. I think my hubby falls in this category too...lol If our highway had a 125 mph sign on it, I believe these people would probably go faster just because...I guess it is just human nature, don't ya think? Wouldn't it be awesome if every law and limit we as humans could follow to the tee? I pray sensitivity to that will come soon.

really? On Texas highways/freeways, people drive up to 80's in 60 mph speed zones! Of course, I drive around 60-65 mph, but I see dozens after dozens of car speed past me every day!

That's their comfort zone. No two people have the same reflex speed. They may also not be familiar with the particular road they are on. Lot's of reasons. I'm more tolerant of them than I am of the idiot who flies around them at breakneck speed. I usually catch up to them at the next traffic light.

Unfortuneately, it is because there are people in this world who could care less about the safety of others and theirselves. Driving too slow can cause danger to people who aren't paying attention, and the people not paying attention pose a threat to everyone.

I have no idea, but I hate it. I think the worst is when you can't pass them or they do like 1 or 2 mph under the speed limit. Then you know they comprehend it, but are too something to follow it.
