ok so I'm a senior and my boyfriend and I are both working but since he is a ski instructor and the season is almost over he needs to find a new job and since i don't get any hours, I am too. So we both applied at Quiznoes and I applied a bunch of other places but I have an interview at GI Joes tomorrow, cool right? well my boyfriend really wants me to work with him at quiznoes because he says I already work at a place just like GI Joes and why would I get any better hours there? so i don't know what to do, not do GI Joes and hope for a call back from quiznoes or just take the bog at GI Joes?? any help?

Does anyone work at Barnes and Noble or even Borders as a shelver? I'm starting a job as a shelver at Barnes and Noble on Monday. What kind of work does it entail? I know that I have to put books on shelves, but can anyone go into depth?

I have an interview on Thursday and I am nervous about the types of questions they will ask me. I had an interview a few weeks ago and didn't get offered the job so I was wondering if I answered wrong on these questions so I can do better this time.

(1) weakness -- I said I get bored easily and would prefer to stay busy

(2) plans for next 5 years? -- I told them i want to have a career that I'm proud of

(3) ever had a problem with a coworker and how did you deal with it? -- I told them I took the problem up with my manager and the girl was eventually fired, that everyone had problems with her.

(4) best qualities in a manager? -- always available to answer questions

Those are the questions that I wasn't sure I answered right. Does anyone know a good answer to those? Also, do you know any other tricky questions I might get asked?

I have a 4 year degree, I have been working for my current company for one year. They want to promote me to basically an entry level accountant, where I would be doing accounts receivables. Account managers at my company make probably about $30,000 a year, and i've been told i'll probably make more than they make. Does anyone have any idea what i'd be making, or what I should negoitiate? I don't want to be short handed on this as I have been with the company for a year. Thanks!

I was indirectly asked my age because the interviewer asked my children's ages. Also in a previous interview for the same job, I was asked how I would handle a career and my kids. Married men are not asked these questions so its not fair. I was also asked to give consent for a background check and the interviewer said, "if you have anything to confess. Tell me now".

Well I was once arrested but the charges were dropped ie: no convictions in my history. So I didn't confess anything to him. Besides its against the law to discriminate against someone based on an arrest record only. If I had a record of convictions that would be another story. In the end I wasn't hired. I was more than qualified.I had to email the HR person to find out their decision...she lied claiming she left me a voicemail but she didn't. This was a two month hiring process so the HR person and I had many phone conversations and emails back and forth. Its odd that she lied about her final communication.

I am a software designer and my old job has requested me to come back. It paid more but was a longer commute with more responsibility. However, there was more chance of getting a higher position. My current job pays less with a much shorter commute but little chance of a higher postion. My current boss drive me nuts because we have to eat with her and leave at the same time. What would u do?

With nearly 15 years of Sales experience I have tried to persuade the them that it would be in their best interest to either start me off on commission only or up my starting wage. For a company that stock price is near 180 this seams upsurd. They also said that my commission is almost entirely based on how many warranties I sell and Credit Card Signups I have. What is your experience like working in commission sales at Sears, how are the benefits and how can Sears keep employees happy with such low wages. At Lowes they start you out at like 11.25 plus commission in the Appliance center... no one SEARS can't sell anyting who would want to when they treat their employees like that. Get people excited about where they work and the great products. What has happened to that once iconic brand?
