I have a 4 year degree, I have been working for my current company for one year. They want to promote me to basically an entry level accountant, where I would be doing accounts receivables. Account managers at my company make probably about $30,000 a year, and i've been told i'll probably make more than they make. Does anyone have any idea what i'd be making, or what I should negoitiate? I don't want to be short handed on this as I have been with the company for a year. Thanks!

I tried going to salary.com, and it wanted to charge me $30.00 to send me my report. =(

Try payscale.com, indeed.com, monster.com

It depends on your state, past experience, etc etc.. payscale.com really puts you through the ringer to pin down what you should be earning, and indeed.com just gives you the number if you can pick the right category.

I know they're just general figures, but it helps to kind of narrow it down.

Aim for at least 35k - 40k+.
