I just got a job at Abercrombie & Fitch for the overnight shift. When I go in for my first shift, can I punch in at any of the registers in the store or do I have to go to the back and punch in there. How does the overnight shift start out? Is there someone who will be giving us a briefing first on our tasks and on where were assigned to?

And how do you request days off on the computer?

I mean, internally, as a recruiter working for Robert Half. So for example, generating new business from clients, filling job orders, interview candidates, etc?

What are the targets like, the culture and atmosphere? All insight would be helpful.

Looking for something you don't have to pay every month, just to get a paycheck. Right now I'm unable to work, does anyone know of any? That will actually pay me, and if you have any bad or good experience with working from home please share.

I applied for a job and got the offer. They told me to go ahead and give my 2 week notice that I would start on the 19th. Now I had to sign some release saying they can basically do everything from check my credit to talk to my neighbors. My credit is shot due to an abusive ex who put stuff in my name and his.....I felt it was better to save my life than it was to save my credit. Now that I have given notice, I'm scared I won't get the job because of that - even though the position doesn't have anything to do with handling money.

I have told the company recruiter's (different one's)numerous times I'm not interested, yet the next week someone else will call me. I consider this a form of harrasment. Any suggestions as to how to get these guys to stop e-mailing me and calling me? The company is called vericomm. It seems strange that besides this company I still occasionally get e-mail and a periodic phone call from companies that saw my resume on Monster or Careerbuilder, although it's been absent for almost a half of year. I used these services to help me get a job not to be harrassed.

My husband works in construction and travels all over. When he got home this last time he filed for unemployment. I just received a letter stateing he has been trasferred to Texas. This is what the letter says. You qualify in Texas for $amount of money per week and a total of $-----. you have 20 days to withdraw you Florida claim and file against the state of Texas.
Any suggestions? Does this mean he should be getting money back from Texas?

Like for example, I am working in an EPC ( Engineering Procurement & Construction) company. Here the need/demand of skill required is very specific (like the candidate should know softwares, Piping Technology etc.) which is not in the syllabus of engineering. And teh demand is so high that the experience candidates asks compensation which is beyind imagination. Hence teh organisations like us have to recruit freshers and train them but again after training, their is a fear of losing them.

I've worked in the travel & leisure industry for several yrs & I'm worn out. I'm good at what I do but I haven't been happy for ages. I work most weekends, all holidays, different hrs. I'm rarely able to vacation & it makes it hard to keep up w/ friends & lovedones. I'm depressed and anxious when I think about going to work now. I am tired of serving others as they celebrate life and mine passes me by because I have so much trouble finding balance and cultivate a rewarding personal life. I'm a nice, intelligent & I work hard, but have no idea where to start looking for another job. I don't want to spend a lot of $ on a headhunter & those on-line job boards can be so frustrating for lack response from any place that offers gainful employment. I really want a job that's m-f/9a-5p at this time as I feel it would be easier for me to balance my personal life. I'd really love to have a XMAS or a weekend camping trip. I deserve a good time too.

I work somewhere where it is just time for me to move on. There a million things that I could complain about, but I just want to give my 2 weeks notice and move on!

Instead of sitting down in a meeting with my boss, could i just type out an official letter and put it in her mailbox? And then go on with my two weeks? I am not good at sitting down and talking, I would rather do that...is that professional?

In my letter i would simply state..."this is to inform you that I am giving my 2 weeks notice as of this date. My last day will be blah blah."

I will not state why i am leaving...none of their bisiness.

I have been jerked around in this position and it is definelty time to move on since I ust found out the future is bleek.

Is it ok to ust slip it in her mailbox?

If your company does not offer many advancements or career growth is it important? Would it make you leave? Would it make you less productive or resentful??

Does your company have career ladders, succession planning, or professional development coaching?
