My husband and I were looking into buying a used bob truck and contract through a company, but would the expenses out weigh what you make over time or would it be better to just get a regular CDL and drive with a company and what company do you think would be the best to go for?

I work for a great company, with a great boss.

Two years ago one of my co-workers (and friend) died in an accident, and my boss asked me to take his place. I was given a considerable pay raise at the time. About a year later I got pregnant, and when I had the baby my boss gave me a full three-month paid maternity leave (not common and very generous). I came back from my leave about three months ago.

I am thinking about asking for a raise. I have been at the same rate for over two years now, not to mention I need the money. My question is about the timing, and also how to approach this. I do a good job and the company is doing well; however he has been pretty generous and very fair/understanding. He's tough but awesome to work for. Also I feel I'm still a bit fresh off of maternity leave. Do you think I should wait a little longer? Would I be pushing it if I asked now?

I appreciate your thoughts/feedback. Thanks!

After a successful on-site interview and the traditional "thank you & I am interested" correspondence, how long do you wait to contact the company without becoming too pushy?

Hi there! I'm currently working from home in a telesales job which pays well but at 26 I feel too young to spend 20 hours a day in the same 2 rooms. I really want to get out of sales as I am sick of dealling with people who persistantly lie and mess me around. I live in central london and am looking for a job where I can progress in an interesting and varied career where I can out my experience to good use. Any ideas?

I'm curious I have been with a company three years I work full time and am getting more responsibilities, not less as well as more work. I recently started implementing a GPS system and also helped install the new server for my company and now maintain it. I was told last year at my review I didn't warrant a raise then I saw coworkers get a bonus and a raise for doing less and the owners give their selves a big bonus.

My question is do I have any power at all or do I simply keep trying to find another job? I have been looking but due to the fact that I am young at 29 and seeking a systems analyst without a lot of references it is hard. I am trying to get certifications right now(Comptia A+, MSCA) to help my resume but I was curious what others might think to try and further my career along.

Anway, I'm an asian american and was wondering is it kind of rare for a person like me to pursue firefighting? Yes firefighting, not that I care if there is plenty of my race working in that field, but was just curious. I know the job is extremely tough. Honestly, I'm 20 yrs and am an undecided major. First, I thought about business administration and other majors dealing with math and science. First it was all about the money, now I'm thinking about helping people. From wanting to live life rich, now its about living life rich as a human being. Exactly how hard is it to get accepted as a firefigter (the hiring process, does the job need more minorities)? Any website where I can get plenty of info on the career? Thank you

Some of my friends think I would make a perfect firefighter. I don't have the height (5'8 and1/4, but very bulky..180 lbs)

Any tips? What should I claim after, and do I have to put it on my CV or tell employers, etc?
