for example my current one is;

Hi, you've reached W. Henderson with XXX Realty, I am not available at the moment to take your call, please leave me you name, a telephone number you can be reached at and a short message and I will return your call as soon as I can.

I need a better greeting, what do you guys suggest?

OH, and given that I'm in a Sales business, and selling homes for that matter, what would you add to my greeting If you were in my shoes?

Hmm, vmail etiquette:

"Name, phone number, and a _detailed_ message", so that it encourages the caller to give you enough info so you can work on in before you call back, so you don't end up doing phone tag.

My fave: my realtor calls my vmail, says call me back. I call back, hit their vmail, I say, "Hi. Tag, you're it." I know there's hesitation in leaving detail if you don't know if you're leaving it at the right place, but your intro should be sufficient.

Does your office have some sort of tag line you could include?
