I have gaps in my cv, and have been off work for a while. Any ideas?

How can I ensure I make it to interview!!

At the end of the day, your prospective employer wants to know about what skills you can bring to the job. Almost everyone has been in the position of being out of work at some point so don't worry too much about this. However, don't dwell on it or make a big point about it either.
Even when you haven't been working, you have probably been doing useful or relevant things with your time. Focus on this.
Any covering letter should be short and to the point, otherwise it won't be read.

There is nothing more valuable than a hungry worker. Sure you've perhaps had a few gaps, though if you can use them to your advantage by showing just how much the absence of work as changed you it can make all the difference.

Just add that u worked with various employment agencies doing various temp assignments.
