You can't stop him/her...that's why you call them boss.

Unfortunatly, good Bosses are hard to find and turkeys usually get the position. Do all you work ahead of time give them no excuse to fire you. There is always someone over that person if you can prove your a good worker get to know who else is in charge and make settle, but effective hints that this person is not doing there job effectively and you can get him fired and always do it anonomsly. But if they every find out they can always get you canned, because little people are easily replaceable.

Micro-managers are the second worst type in my books (the worst being 'they think they know it all but really know nothing!') I believe micro-managers are the paranoid type who think something terrible is going to happen if there is the slightest mistake. They don't trust anyone, make every decision for you and must review everything you do.

Honestly, there really is no answer for these types. you either put up with their antics or find another manager. There is no in between.

Find another job - management will not change. How managers qualify for those positions boggles the mind. If he/she tears down employees, moral will continue to diminish. My husbands almost former employer is doing the same thing and six engineers have left in two months.

You can't. You can either work with him as he is or find another job. I've had those kinds of bosses...they will not change no matter what you do. Should you choose to leave, tell him exactly why.
