I was just wondering, OTHER than an english teacher and/or a possible translating job? Would they be able to get the same kind of job a native Japanese would be able to get it they are fluent in Japanese? (speaking and writing)

why would you want another job other than translator it is very good pay from what i hear... but to answer your question...

-cook
-station attendant
-janitor
-construction worker
-pretty much any physical labor job
-you could even take a job from the government and beautify their parks and help wildlife

If you speak the language well enough to be a translator then you are pretty s m a r t so it wouldn't be difficult to find a job anywhere. i don't have a translator program that makes me able to read the text or change it to English i think that would be awesome and you could probably make barrels of money doing it... so i guess as far as i know there would be many openings because of the variety that we sometimes glimpse from story lines and other sometimes cruel joke sites. I am a 65 years young Chinaman. My general understanding about our close neighbor is that they don't like foreigners. Their minds are not that open to foreigners. Don't be confused with their politeness. It doesn't mean that they will accept you.
