I get paid every Friday at my work in a weekly basis. Last Thursday Feb 1st I called in that I can't go to work because of a doctor's appointment. The only day I work was Feb 4th and Feb 7th of this year, and I didn't receive any next Friday Feb 9th because the manager told me I had to get paid next week? So how weekly salary really work?

I currently work at Old Navy, and the managers have a habit of dumping me in the fitting room, where the constant interaction with customers is tiring me. I understand retail isn't exactly designed for the introverted, but I needed a job, and everywhere else I looked it was the same: "Looking for OUTGOING, PEOPLE-ORIENTED candidates with EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS and GREAT COMMUNICATION ABILITY."

Everywhere I look, companies are hiring based on traits I lack (verbal communication skills, persuasiveness, perkiness) rather than any of my strengths (written communication ability, creativity, task focus). What I'm basically asking is, are there any part-time jobs out there for smart, shy people? Or are we out of luck until the distant future, when we're all out of college? And if there are any jobs for me, how would I go about finding them?

Are there any recruitment agencies in London who can help me find a job in Dubai?

I need to talk with people, rather than look on the internet.

I had an interview where i talked to 8 different people seperately. They were people from all different departments of the company. Should I mail one thank you letter to the hiring manager and email the rest? Should I mail each of them thank you letters? Should I email them all? What is the best way? I really want the job.

Ok so I have had my job for almost 2 years now. I get medical and dental paid vacation time, sick pay holiday pay etc. I have only had 1 raise and it was when I was here for 7 months. How could I ask for a raise without sounding odd? I need some help.

Also it is a very small company there is only 9 of us. So I know that there is no way of moving up in position but I just want more money.

I just looked in my employee hand book on raises and here is what it says:

Merit increases are based on job performance and responsibilities rather than on seniority or automatic increase systems. In considering merit increases, your supervisor evaliates the results you have achieved in relation to performance expectations at your job level. If you are capable of assuming greater responsibilities, you will be considered for promotions when they become available. Management will decide whether an immediate ay increase is appropriate at the time of your promotion.

please help

I slip and fell on plastic at work, and was told i had a knee contusion, and it was okay to go back to work the next day. i complained about having more pain the next day and was told that i could return to work on Monday . i then requested an MRI and found out three days later i had a torn ligament, Synovial cyst, and limited movement.Right now my medical needs are covered under workers comp and i'm also recieving my base pay ( no commision). Should i still hire my own private lawyer if workers comp is covering my medical cost?

he would tell me to "get my ....... .... in here". I objected to being spoken to in that tone and in that language. In my interview, what do i say when they ask me why i left the other job? Im sure i have been turned down for some jobs because i said why i left. I was only there 9 months.

i have to go to this training center for part of my new deal training.

its a 13 week course. i got told before i went that i would have a couple of days for an induction and so they could help us write spec letters or update our CVs and then i would start a work placement in a salon or a busy shop to help me gain customer service skills that would help me get a job.

i went today and the induction took 2 hours. after dinner we went into a small classroom with people who were already on the course and told us to make a new CV or write a spec letter for a shop job.
i asked when our placements would start and they said in about 4 weeks time.
this really annoyed me. my CV is already up2 date and doesnt need changing i just need help with interviews and to get my work experience.

most people on the course just arent bothered what happens as long as they get their money.

im not sure i can put up with it but as i live alone i cant afford to lose the money.
