i have looked at lots of jobs lately, some are rubbish, some aint but i am 36 now and i really want to establish myself in a forward thinking company where my ambitions are matched.i have worked in mortgages for all my life inc being independant,i want a total career change which will transform me into other directions. i am very technically knowledged and a very quick learner, i also want to challenge myself in other areas too, property is a big interest to me also. at the moment i am unemployed but i am currently renovating a substantial property for future investment. thank you

Correct me if I am wrong but aren't all employers supposed to be EOE? And if so why do a few put it in their ads? Also isn't it discriminating for a job ad to say bilingual is required or a must? Why do I need to learn another language to get a job in a country I WAS BORN IN???????

I am having great difficult with my boss. I just joined the company in Oct. - she did not hire me but her boss - Director of our department did. I think she does not like me- and she tells me that other people in my department think my work is not 'up to standard'. I have tried to take her comments constructively- but she was a different standard for me compared to others. I am not sure how to deal with this. Initially, I though I would leave the job after one year. But now- I think it is better if I leave ASAP. How do I explain in my covering letter leaving my job so soon? I was planning to use her boss (the person who hired me) as a reference and leave her out since I doubt she will give me a good reference.

What should I do? Stay for 1 year or leave ASAP?

There was newspaper ad for someone to stuff envelopes for $5/envelope, you deposit $40 untill first 50 letters are recieved and then they pay the $250, refund your $40, and send more. Some say it sounds ok and I should try it, but some say it has to be a scam they have machines to do that. What do you think? i'd only be out $40 it seems....and if it works it would be easy income....

im going to law school but ive been hearing from many that lawers hate their jobs and wish they had done something else and are not financial well off. Of course i will not let that discourage me, i am going to law school because i believe i can succed. however i want to be smart about it. Are there other jobs available to law schools graduates? Say if i became very unhappy with my work could i go into business? Perhaps i should change my major which right now is english/ history (however i feel i can get the best grades in these which is important to law schools)

I have the opportunity to make about 10K more per year at a new job, but I don't know if I should take it. I currently work from home, and the flexibility is nice. This new job would be an 8-5 office job and I'd have to put my son in daycare full-time. (He's in part-time right now.) On the other hand, though my hours are flexible, my current job does require many, many hours in front of the computer. I usually end up working all weekend. This new job would require me to work on Saturday mornings. I guess I can't get away from working on the weekend. Anyway, I don't know what to do. Yikes.
