I graduated high school in 1990, I joined the army and didn't go to college until 2002.
Age makes no difference in today's universities, there are just as many "untraditional students" as there are "traditional"
And you may think that your criminal past may affect your job status, and it will to some extent I'm sure, but your chances of getting a decent job are much better with a degree. Without it, you have very little chance at success.
I do not recommend suicide however, there is always hope.

Learning is NEVER a waste of time.
Sucide is a very selfish act and I hope you reconsider it out of respect to the people that do love you!
There are plenty of people in college who are NOT traditional students.
My dad was 40 years old when he want back to school.
He got his degree and earns a VERY decent living.
He too felt like you did (about being the oldest person in the class) so he took night classes.
The people there were older and more focused and did quite well and loved it.
Granted when you graduate, you wont be able to get certain jobs but there will be plenty jobs that you CAN do even with a felony!
Have you ever thought about getting a job where you can help other people
A job in counseling where you could advise others against doing some of the things that you did when you were younger?
maybe you can just go back to school to take a few business classes so that start your OWN business where you can be YOUR own boss, you could buy a few lawn mowers and and start a lawn care business or other supplies and start a janitorial business. There are plenty of jobs that you could CREATE for yourself.
You could even reach back and help a few others that are currently in YOUR situation.
You commited a robbery! You paid your debt and society has forgiven you (or you would not have been released). Now it is time to do what you can do to make your life what you want it to be. You can do this.
Please do not kill yourself.
Others are counting on you. Your question was very well written so it is obvious that you are not stupid. It might be your destiny that you are to help someone else or a whole bunch of someone elses.
YOu can do this!

First EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES. If we all ended our lives there would be no one left on this earth.
Nobody is perfect.
I am with my Mr. Wonderful and he MADE A HELL OF A LOT OF MISTAKES. Including jail time.
I argue with him everyday BUT I LOVE HIM.'
He has changed completly since his bad boy days.
I see no resemblance to the guy he is and the one people have described to me.
we have 2 kids and could not be happier.
2nd.
yes it will be hard to get a job, BUT YOU CAN.
3. EDUCATION IS NEVER A WASTE.
I was sick a lot as a kid. I finally had to get a GED and went to college over 20.
Get it goin girl.
YOU CAN DO IT.......
You do not owe anyone at college your life story.
You can get a job, apply for a grant and live your life.
You only need to worry about your future. not what everyone else thinks.
3rd. some felonies can be reduced. see an atty about that question.

I should be graduating this year but I took some time off in previous years and I got back into it just fine. I love college and you will too. I have 40 year olds in my class and they are the nicest people I have ever met. My homeboy did a 6 year robbery bid and he just got his degree in journalism. This dude owns property he has done a complete 360. The system wants you to think the way you do. Beat the system by making them look like fools when you get your degree.

I started when I was 20. i graduated when i was 25. I am so glad i went back. i am 27 now and i am going to be going to med school next year. it is never to late to start new things. you don't want to be 30 and think back and wish i would have giving it a shot. you will either be 30 with a degree or 30 without. as for the felony charge, so employers may see that that was in the past and you moved on with your life; you went to school and turned your life around. i say go for it. you will only regret it if you don't.

dude the average community college age is like 26, for certain colleges like nursing. the average age is 35. alot of high schoolers joined the military so they could get the GI bill like i did. i started college at 23.
and it was a very good time of my life. i only attended one year and ill admit i learned a good amount. enjoyed a better social life. and ended up meeting my wife while in college too so dont feel like your left behind at all cause your deffently not.
and dont worry about the felony charge, you spending the time to get a degree will make future employers have no worries about you.

I'm 21 and will be going to back to college sometime with in a year. It's never too late. There are people in their 30s that go back to school. You are young and still have a whole life ahead of you. I know it might seem hopeless right now but it really isnt. Sounds like you want to get your life in order. So go for it. We all do things we regret but that doesnt mean it should ruin our lives. Hang in there!!! Big hugs!!!

its NEVER too late.
I just started college last year. I am almost 27! I spent some time in the military, so I had a very late start. if you feel that strongly about it, just double up on credits for the first few semesters to catch up. that's what I did, now I've gotten nearly 2 and 1/2 years worht of credit in the last year....

I just restarted college in Jan. I'm 20 and I transitioned pretty well. It's not too hard. Age doesn't matter in college. I have some people 40+ in most of my classes.

You are one of the luckiest M.F.'s on earth and you feel sad?
The guy that robbed my house got 15years.
I will go to EVERY parole hearing to make sure he does every one of them possible.
YOu are extremely lucky and would be wise to see the 'good' in your situation.
SOunds like you were given a second chance.
Although I personally wont shed a tear when a robber decides to take his own life, I would think that your parents and loved ones would feel slightly different.
I am sure that they did not raise you to be a robber! you OWE it to them to prove that you have changed and were worthy of a second chance.
Dont you think that you have put them thru enough with your criminal charges now you want to break their hearts again?
Some people are just soo selfish!
*********************************************************************************************************************************************************
I just read your other questions
DO you read what you wrote?
IN this question you said you were thinking about going to college, NOW (5 mintues later) you have enrolled and are thinking about dating someone 27.....
So now you are a liar and a felon
Dont worry you wont have a chance with her when she finds out who you really are!
Date your own kind (other felons) and leave decent people alone! Better yet go back to jail
and date BUBBA
