-----I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with an effective minor in Chemistry, and a 5-year Bachelor of Accountancy degree; I graduated with “honors” both times. For six years, I ran a one-man computer consulting company doing teaching and programming on the IBM PC microcomputer. I live in Houston, Texas, USA; I can move. In what job or field can I combine my dissimilar education and experience? ---Thanks, Jim

search for bioinformatics, that would be your specialty. i would go for your mba, you have a lot of school already, but employers would fellate you with those combos.

how come you couldn't find a real job out of college, offense to your first one.

Frankly that background would do well in my small company.

We are a reagent reseller from over 40 suppliers. There's a need for understanding of science and business which are complete opposites in thinking from one another. Frankly, scientists make horrible businessmen; however analytical they think they are, they're usually too emotional.

The "thing" to my company (why I'm writing here) is that we have no salesmen, all sales are done by print advertising in major scientific journals and web advertisments. Web sales account for 20% of our sales (phone & fax make up other 80%), but our goal is 80% web sales.

We have a big need for understanding business and computer databases. Correlating 40 different suppliers to one uniform look and information base is easier said than done and capturing the information and redelivering it back in a new, uniform manner is quite tough.

I currently do technical support, but my goal with another company is to move on to technical sales or sales support.

Video game designer. Designing games that include animals may require a designer to work with and/or observe animals for behavioral purposes. This is to get the digital version of the animal to be as realistic as the actual animal. Music also is a major part of video game design. But you are not likely to find a game designing job that involves animals all the time or often.
