I'm 13 at the moment and I would like a job. After that I have no idea where to start. Where do I look for jobs? What kind of jobs do you think would be suitable for a 14 year old? How much money can I expect to make?

As some have said, it depends on where you live and what your looking for. If you have decent transportation and like working outdoors, you could ask at any farms or stables to see what kind of help they may need. I hire kids to clean stalls, brush and handle horses, learn how to feed, etc.. You could mow lawns, or go to nurseries and learn ground maintenance, if you like landscaping. Paint fences, help elders with minor maintenance. You might even be able to intern at pools to become a lifeguard.

Just be creative and think about things you would really enjoy doing from spring to fall. Finding something that fits your passions will go much farther than just finding something for the bucks. Good luck!

It depends on what type of neighborhood you live in - When I was 13, I had a lawn mowing business. I bought an old lawnmower at a garage sale, and cut people's grass. This was back in the early 1980's, at the time I made $7 per yard. Each yard took about an hour. Now I'd bet you could make $25 per yard.

After I did it a few years, I got my friends to do some of the jobs I didn't feel like doing. I kept a few bucks, and paid them the rest. It was pretty cool, I ended up making money on their sweat!

At your age, you can make a ton more money doing that than getting a work permit and getting some minimum wage job.

Hey good for you , you know wanting a job.
Well first thing first in most states there is an age requirement law, i believe the age is 16, how ever you can probably get a work permit from employer and, or school. since you have little or no work experience i suggest you think about a car wash at gas station; fast food industry; or if there is one not to far from you a one stop work shop, which is mostly physical labor like moving boxes; cleaning, etc. good thing is you get paid same day. if you need work permit and cant obtain one then i suggest you start mowing lawns and washing peoples cars. best of luck!
