I gave a notice at my job because I had been working there 11 months and requested an evaluation and a raise. (hadn't had either even though the policy says an evaluation after 6 mo) I am a good employee, do what I am supposed to, show up on time etc. My boss copped out and said that they give bonuses but not really rasies. That among other things added up which made me decide to take a job I was offered, and I gave a full two week notice plus a few days. A an ad was placed in the paper for my replacment which was a dollar more an hour than I was making and said experience a plus but not a must. They were willing to hire someone without exp for more than they were willing to pay me. Am I being over sensitive saying my boss is a butt hole?

I started a new job about 4 months ago. My 18 month old son has been sick off and on for a month now (and is home sick again today). How do you balance the time off and giving your all when you are there? I do not want my employer to feel that I am using my child as an excuse to stay home from work.

I have been unemployed for 2 months.I put out tons of resumes over these past 2 months.I've sent out almost 50.I was only called in for like 5 or 6 interviews and they filled the position with someone else. When I go to these interviews I dress the way I am soposed to; dress pants, button down shirt etc..I smile and act out going.I make alot of eye contact and answer all the questions I am asked. My resume has that I have experience.Could it be possible, as illegal as it is, that my last employer is saying something bad about me? I was laid off from my last job because I had to travel to different offices in the city.I had never traveled in the city by myself and had got lost a few times.Every office was at least an hour away from home. The traffic was unpredictable every day, for example: If I started at 10am and left my house 8am I would get there 30 min early. The next day, same time but get there 15 min late. They knew this but laid me off anyway. Should I just start a new career?

I don't want to be in one of those scams or weird things you see ads for but a real, honest job that I can do in my own hours. Like grade papers, graphic design, accounting, etc

How would you react if your boss or supervisor threatened to fire you- for example, if, say, you don't complete a task by the end of the week, your boss says "I will have to do something to you."

This happend to me today, and I do NOT appreciate it. How can you fairly and assertively defend yourself and procure human dignity when facing a menacing boss?

What can one do in these situations? (And still keep the job! LOL)

Please, this is a serious question. You can suggest crazy stuff if you so desire, but I would really appreciate a heartfelt, effective response.
