I believe it depends on your state. In my state if your company has paid into the fund AND you become unemployed through NO FAULT of your own then you are eligible. You are not eligible if you quit, resign or get fired. You are eligible if you are laid off, downsized or are terminated, though not your fault.

If you are in a partnership and jointly decide to dissolve the partnership then you would not be eligible.

No, only employees are eligible for unemployment (I think).

If you paid into unemployment, yes.
