It's best to have other possibilities that pay more to use as leverage. Make it clear the cost of keeping you is much less than the cost of replacing you, other wise you will be begging for more money and that rarely works.

If u cant write ur own letter to ur boss on why u want a raise then u really dont deserve one! Now I can understand if u didn't know how to word the letter and are asking us for help, but u want a mofo to write the letter for u?! Now that aint right. Nobody knows u like urself and u would be better off writing it urself to have the best affect in regards to the final decision.

Take the help of the boss's secretary. She will most certainly know your qualities which the boss likes and those which he dislikes. If the later far exceeds the former than forget writing him for a raise and instead look for a new job.

i cant write a letter for you since i dont know where you work, how long, what you have done, etc but
some good points to include is your tenure with the company, how long have you been in this role, what have you done to improve what you do, concentrate on your accomplishments, say all that you did and you want to continue to do more.
